ESS Are Runner's Up at the BDC 6th Pre-Worlds (Original Post on May 3, 2009)

ESS became Runner's Up at the BDC 6th Pre-Worlds Schools Debate Championship 2009 (hosted by Maple Leaf Intl School), which was held from 2-4 April 2009. The final, "This house believes that carbon offsets undermine the effort to tackle climate change" was won by the opposition side from Manarat (Sumaiya Anjum Kasfi, Labib Rahman, Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah) by a 8-5 split decision. The ESS team comprised Alaka Dhara Halder, Abrar Faiaz and Asif Hossain Protik.
